Fireworks at the celebration of the United Sta...

Image via Wikipedia

I shot and edited this footage of the 4th of July Fireworks in Redlands California taken last night. My apologies for the sound of my digital camera’s shutter going off but I was also shooting stills of the display.

Happy 4th to my American friends! (especially those who put up with a Brit hanging out with them last night Redlands FAF and friends that means you ;) )

Happy 5th to myself…35 years young!

Thanks for visiting!

That’s right…it’s time to accept that mission and join Ethan Hunt and the IMF team as they try and clear their names in Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol!

M:I Ghost Protocol is the live action directing debut of Brad Bird (The Incredibles) and judging by this awesome teaser trailer he’s brought the awesome to the table of another of my fave franchises.  I’ve enjoyed each take on the Impossible franchise thus far, the espionage of the original by Brian De Palma, all out action of number 2 from John Woo, the fine melding of both by J.J. Abrams in part 3.

Looking forward to Ghost Protocol!

Robert Patrick will be returning to Sci-Fi on SyFy with a Sci-Fi original movie based on the Red Faction Video/Computer Game series.

The Telemovie called Red Faction: Origins

The overview is as follows:

Twenty-five years have passed since Alec Mason (Patrick) led the Martian Colonies to freedom and 12 years since vengeful enemies killed his wife, kidnapped his daughter Lyra (Tamzin Merchant), and left a broken hero in their wake.

Jake Mason (Smith), Alec’s only son and an officer in the Red Faction Militia, has his world turned inside out when he discovers that now, 12 years after her kidnapping, his sister is still alive. As a powerful new enemy swarms across the planet, Jake goes out to find her, only to learn that his lost sister is one of them a cold-blooded soldier sworn to destroy the Red Faction. Red Faction: Origins is produced by Universal Cable Productions and UFO Films.

No release date is set, but I’ll keep you updated.

Bond is Back in 2012!

Daniel Craig at the 81st Academy Awards

Image via Wikipedia

Barring the start of the 7 years of Tribulation found in the Book of Revelation happening in the very near future…the world won’t end in 2012…though it may seem like it will be so.

That said MGM is planning on releasing the next 007 film in 2012.

New James Bond films may be released every second year starting in November 2012, MGM said. It aims to own 50 percent of Bond 23, due out that year, with an equal partner paying all of the production costs, it said. Later Bond movies would be wholly owned and funded by MGM, the company said.  (Article link at end of post).

We know that Daniel Craig is eager to return and that Sam Mendes had been practically hired before all this legal mayhem began- so in the near future we’ll see just how tihings come together. Of course since they are aiming to release in 2012 then filming will have to start in 2011.

Keep checking back for my 007 news as things move forward and filming progresses as long as I’m not raptured this site will be updated.

The new Riddick movie has been titled Riddick.

Here is the official plot outline (I’m giving a spoiler warning because it has some possible spoilers) after the break:

I was just going through my Salvation 4 Min Trailer footage folder on my main thumbdrive when I came across a number of shots that I know were excised from Terminator Salvation.

Judging from the costume that Marcus is wearing and the destruction done to both costume and character not to mention the background elements I believe they are part of what may be either a short…or longer introduction to Marcus first T-600 sighting and meeting up with Kyle.

Marcus L.A.

Is Marcus Skulking around L.A.? Or is it the Gas Station?

I could be ENTIRELY wrong…what do you think?

Hey if you couldn’t tell I’ve given the blog an overhaul and a new name and description. The impetus was the new theme you see before you called Motion.

I’m just digging not only the look and style of the design but the ease of navigation. It’s very nice to look at and you can now browse through the history of the blog by category in a much easier fashion. I really dig the color choices and that it gives me a tiny place to put a custom image is just icing on the cake.

Right now it’s from T2 but I’ll change it pretty regularly.

Anyhow you can expect things to continue pretty much the same, I’m proud of the new look and the designer did a fantastic job.

Motion not only reflects well on the creators design skills but it also brings a high quality look and feel to the blog. It also puts forward how serious I am about this blog. And will continue to be.

Catch you on the flipside.

Brand new day…Brand new look.

Since Terminator will soon have a brand new owner I decided to switch things up and go with a different Theme for my blog. How long this will last is anyones guess but I dig the sleek styling of Monochrome.

Partially I’m doing this simply to remind people that while I AM a Terminator fan this is in fact my personal blog and not one devoted to Terminator.

I’m not feeling so hot so it might be a few days before my next post…we’ll see how I’m feeling tomorrow.

Not really, no.

The plot is still insanely boring and predictable. The characters are almost either blindingly good or dastardly evil.

And the only thing that has any Dimension Is the Planet itself in stunning 3-D.

I saw it with better sound…which only helped the horrible dialogue and massive explosions and other sounds get major league improved (aurally).

And with a bigger screen and brighter projection I was even more able to appreciate the insane detail that makes up Pandora and a great many of the effects shots.

Well now that I’m in So. Cal again I plan on revisiting Pandora.

I’m hoping the following things will enable me to have a more enjoyable experience:

1: Since I already know that the story is at best a let down, I can try and ignore that.
2: Since I’m going to be in a better theater I’ll have better sound and picture quality and a larger screen.
3: I know how some of the CGI isn’t as awesome as it could be so I won’t be as let down.
4: I now have the script from 2007…and I have to deal with the fact that a TON of sruff was excised to keep the running time reasonable. Of course that’s a blessing also because it cuts down on a TON of really badly written exposition.

I read on the CHUD.com messageboards that Avatar would work exceptionally well as a silent film. I don’t know if I’d quite make it silent…but I’d certainly excise the human dialogue. While keeping the other sound fx.

I think that would improve things dramatically.
