An in depth blog on the way not to blog.

Ross here, and I’ve finally come to the conclusion that some people have the wrong idea about blogging. Recently there has been a one two punch in Sarah Connor Chronicles blogging.

Located here LanieGrace On SCC1 and here LanieGrace on SCC 2.

In fact if you go to the main site here Main page. You will notice that she really has a beef with just about everything she’s written about. You’ll also notice that each article is designed to get people talking and generate all kinds of debate and conversation. That’s because no matter what she really just wants to get people to visit and talk about her articles.

She is writing her posts just to get hits, she’s writing her posts to get a rise out of Battlestar fans and SCC fans.

I hate to break it to you but blogging isn’t about getting the most hits, it’s about providing accurate and stimulating information. And hopefully getting noticed for that.

Blogging can be a lonely exercise, most of the time I don’t have exclusives or specials, one reason for that is I live in Oregon so I don’t have a huge network of connections at all. The majority of my posts are just pointing the way to stories I find interesting elsewhere on the internet. However I also write speculative pieces and episode reviews, and pieces about my writing that I think will interest people.

These speculative pieces are always conjecture but they are clearly and obviously based upon fact. They offering challenging viewpoints and angles that might not have been considered by other readers or viewers in the case of SCC posts.

However I don’t fabricate dialogue, I don’t create inside sources, bar My April Fools post. And a few Exclusives which came from real living breathing humans who were actually there. I try to write passionate pieces about things that fascinate me, and I write in a way that isn’t designed to generate gobs of hits.

To me generating hits is not what I’m writing this blog for, I’m writing this blog as an honest outlet for my point of view on various subjects including Terminator.

Some people think Blogging is for jerking fans around As one can seeWow would you look at that the ass covering begins…..

But fear not the truth will reappear.

Blogging is about writing with honesty, and sincerity. To challenge the reader and give them new perspectives.

The most hits I had in one day on this blog was 108, that was for the Screenshot of the Ground H/K Tank in the Salvation PC game. It was a nice surprise but it’s not what I’m about.

I’m here to share my opinion.
I’m here to share facts.
I’m here to blog and encourage creative thinking.

I’m not blogging for numbers.
I’m not blogging to incite fans or encourage ass loads of replies.
I’m not blogging to spread lies.

I’m striving to blog for more than the lowest denominator.
