Warner Bros. and Imax have announced that they will be teaming up to release up to 20 films on the huge screen format between 2011 and 2013.

The capper on that will be none other than The Hobbit set with a release date of December 1023.

There are of course other big names listed including the next Batman and a new Superman.

The others with release dates are:

Legends of the Guardian: The Owls of Ga’Hoole 3D” (September 24, 2010); “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” (November 19, 2010); “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II” (July 15, 2011); and “Happy Feet 2” (November 18, 2011).

Oh and in case you’re wondering Fury Road the new Mad Max film is listed also.

I gotta say I like the IMAX thing more than the 3-D thing so I applaud WB for making this decision.

What do you think?
