Over the past two days there has been a influx of Terminator 5 information hitting the internet.

Just the other day it was revealed that Annapurna Pictures and Skydance Films were in talks with Paramount Pictures to distribute the finished film in theaters. Some are reporting this as a done deal and others are saying that it’s as good as done. I don’t doubt that at all with the news that I just found today.

In the source linked below there are more details but I’ll just highlight the biggest ones here and go check out TAF’s for the rest!

  1. Filming on T5 will begin early next year, perhaps as early as January by the look of things.
  2. Arnold expects to get the finished T5 script in a couple of weeks.

The Arnold Fans on T5

Also found via the link above is a story from the WWE Examiner, and since it’s possibly got spoilers…I’ll discuss that after the break.

Alright so your not afraid of potential spoilers here goes. There could be a draft of T5 out there that is specifically designed around The Rock playing the villain to Arnold’s character!

It is also possible that this film could be set in the time of Sarah Connor’s Parents!

Arnold would be playing a human friend of the family that protects Sarah’s parents from a Terminator using the weapons of that time to defeat the Terminator.

This is all very interesting, as a screenwriter myself I wrote Arnold as a human fighting in the Future War…and I think that’s what most people felt was the logical way to continue with Arnold in the series. However I really dig the possibilities of this idea.

Will it end up being true, who knows. However I do know that Megan Ellison and David Ellison have huge plans for Terminator- after all they do plan to make two films before the Terminator rights revert to James Cameron in 2019.

Well that’s it, keep watching for more Terminator News, because it will be coming more often as production ramps up!

See you all later,

Ross
